Riverfront Pizzeria Bar and Grill

Located in the Historic Third Ward, Riverfront Pizza offers diners a great spot to get a pizza or Italian sandwich.

Our group really enjoyed the spacious feeling of this restaurant. Large windows look south over the river and allow for plenty of natural light to fill the space. The bar is long and can easily accommodate larger parties. A couple of televisions allow diners to watch a game while they wait for a table or enjoy a pre meal cocktail.

This place is probably best known for the pizza, however the menu does include everything from an Italian beef sandwich ($9.50) to a Reuben ($8.99).

We have made multiple trips to this place and have found the service to be very friendly. The bartenders are attentive and it does not take long to place an order for a beverage. On the weekends the restaurant filled up, but it never felt overly crowded. During a typical weeknight, finding a place to sit at the bar was not a problem.

For an appetizer we enjoyed the tomoato basil bread ($6.75/$9.00). It is sort of a grown up version of a normal garlic bread appetizer. It has cheese, fresh tomato and is served with a basil sauce as well as marinara sauce. We have also had the eggplant appetizer which was also really tasty. Finally, Riverfront has some great mozzerella sticks, which is pretty much required in Wisconsin.

Part of what makes this place unique is the fact that they offer so many different types of pizza. They have the usual build your own version, but a number of different pizzas on the menu have caught our attention. The Taco pizza includes ground beef, tortilla chips, and re-fried beans. Most of us were skeptical of such a dish, but somehow it all worked. The Carnivore pizza includes pepperoni, sausage, bacon, Canadian bacon, and garlic. This was a favorite at the table. Finally, for something a little different, the Blanco pizza features olive oil, garlic,  Romana, Mazzerella, Ricotta cheeses.

All of the pizzas range from $10 for a mini pie, to $26 for family sized. They are served on traditional or whole wheat crust. The crust is made daily and is thin and crispy.

Riverfront is not as well known as other pizza places within our town. However, if you are looking for a good slice of pizza in a very enjoyable atmosphere, this p[lace is perfect.

No delivery but take-out is available.
