Restaurant Review: Jake’s

Jake’s is a nice restaurant located just north of Capitol Drive in the Brookfield area. The setting is unique and the food and service is superb. If you are looking for a comfortable dining experience with good food, Jake’s should be on your list.

The atmosphere is reminiscent of a lodge and is very cozy. The ambiance is nice and has a “supper cub” feel.

The food was very high quality. We started with a crab dip appetizer and found it to be a hit at the table. In typical steak house or supper club manner, all entrees come with a salad or soup. The salads and soups are fairly straightforward. They were tasty and expected.

The entrees were very good. The Kansas City Strip and the Filet were favorites at our table. The steaks can be prepared in multiple ways and can have different toppings that are included wihtin the price of the entree. We had a couple of steaks blackended, as well as with the Jakes Steak Sauce. Finally a couple of our steaks were served with Blue Cheese. Amongst our table, there was not one complaint. The quality of the meat and the prepeartion were absolutely superb.

A nice aspect to the menu is the fact that every meal has two sides included. These include Baked potatoes, french fries, rice, veggies just to name a few. The sides can be purchased a la carte, but they are individual portions and are plenty large in size.

The best part of the dining experience was the service. It is clear that the staff is well versed in the menu and they are very attentive to the diners needs. The service level is comparable to some of the dining establishments downtown.
